Will Smith Explains Why Willow Smith Dropped Out of 'Annie'

Will Smith explains why daughter Willow has dropped out of the big-screen Annie reboot, telling the audience of Real Talk with Sister Souljah and Will Smith at Philly's Temple University that his high-profile daughter really wants to act her age.

Pics: Stars and Their Cute Kids

Will told the audience, "Willow was supposed to be doing Annie, we got Jay-Z to do the movie, got the studio to come in and Willow had such a difficult time on tour with Whip My Hair and she said, 'You know Daddy, I don't think so,' and I said, 'Baby, hold up!' I said, 'No, no, no, listen, you'll be in New York with all of your friends and Beyoncé will be there. You will be singing and dancing,' and she looked at me and said, 'Daddy, I have a better idea, how about I just be 12.'

The Smith clan has been in creative career overdrive, with 2010 alone packed with the release of Whip My Hair, The Karate Kid, Hawthorne and the Nobel Concert when Barack Obama won his Nobel Peace Prize. This summer, Will's sci-fi movie with son Jaden, After Earth, hits theaters.

"Don't be clapping yet, that wears you out," explains Will. "The thing that had become very clear to me is the danger of a material world and focusing so hard on coming up with money or a house or a job. You focus so hard on those things, and sometimes you can lose focus on why you are doing it in the first place. The only reason to do any of that is to have love."

Video: Will & Jaden Smith Survive 'After Earth'

He continued, "I'm really learning through Willow the necessity that we have to snap ourselves back and refocus on the emotional needs of the people that we love. Someone's emotional needs can be very, very different from your dreams and what you think they should be doing and where they are supposed to be."

So it looks like Willow will slow things down a bit for now and just focus on being a kid. Lesson learned, Will, lesson learned.

Nicole Kidman raised eyebrows during Matt Damon's Jimmy Kimmel Live! takeover when she greeted Kimmel -- who was strapped to a chair -- with a lap dance. On the SAG Awards red carpet, the Oscar winner explained the move to Nancy O'Dell.

Kidman described the dance as "impromptu," saying that she was just following the lead of another one of the night's guests.

"Robin Williams had done it before, so I thought, 'Well, why not?'" Kidman explained.

For years Kimmel has had a running joke where he ends every episode by apologizing to Matt Damon for running out of time for him. On last week's special episode of the late-night show -- nine years in the making -- Damon recruited some friends (which included Andy Garcia, Sheryl Crow, Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lopez, Robert DeNiro, Sarah Silverman, Demi Moore and Oprah Winfrey.

4. Jennifer Lawrence Suffers Wardrobe Malfunction

It seemed like disaster for Jennifer Lawrence when her dress came apart just as she was called up to accept the award for Best Actress during the 2013 SAG Awards.

The Silver Linings Playbook star's apparent wardrobe malfunction caught the eye of both Marion Cotillard and Nicole Kidman, whose reaction to the getup coming apart at the seams was caught on camera. No disaster, here, though -- it turns out the dress was designed that way! A source close to designer Dior told ET that the dress did not rip -- that it was made with different layers of tulle and satin.

This minor outfit hitch comes after it was announced that Lawrence, 22, has walking pneumonia, making this one of the best and worst weeks for the award-winning actress.

Jessica Simpson Talks Weight Watchers Weight Loss

The always candid Jessica Simpson is getting personal about her own weight loss journey for Weight Watchers' "I'm Only Human And I Did It" project, in which real women share how they were able to finally achieve their weight loss goals.

"I was happy to be pregnant. I was happy to be gaining weight and eating whatever I wanted," she admits in her own video for the inspiring project. "I was the girl that never asked the doctor how much she weighed. I stepped on the scale backwards because I was just gonna enjoy my pregnancy and have fun."

Pics: Adorable Tots -- Celebs and Their Cute Kids!

But about one month after her daughter Maxwell was born, Jessica was faced with the startling realization of just how much weight she gained during her pregnancy at her first meeting with Weight Watchers.

"It was the first time I had to come face-to-face with the scale, and I looked at the scale, and I thought my life was completely over," she recalls about the first meeting, which was held at her house where she was surrounded by friends. "I was not expecting to see the number that I saw, because it's just never a number that I could fathom weighing -- but I did. ... I had a moment there where I was standing on the scale, and faced with a severe truth -- and I didn't know if I could do it. I really didn't know if it was gonna happen for me."

But Jessica ended up having nothing to worry about -- she lost over 50 pounds following the program.

"I'm seriously only human, just like you guys," she stresses "It is hard to lose weight but when I teamed up with Weight Watchers it actually wasn't as hard as I thought. It was just something that became a lifestyle."

Though she does share that with her second pregnancy, she's definitely doing things a lot differently.

"Now I'm pregnant again, and I'm looking at the scale, and I'm making the right decisions with what I'm eating," she says, clearly overjoyed. "I still have my desserts -- just not four of them."

Antonio Banderas Day of the Falcon Stars Exclusive Clip

Antonio Banderas and Freida Pinto star in the stirring Arabian epic Day of the Falcon from veteran director Jean-Jacques Annaud, and in this ETonline exclusive behind-the-scenes clip the stars recall how they were caught up in a real-life revolution while shooting on location in Tunisia.

Pics: 13 Must-See Movies of 2013

While filming a story of rival kingdoms warring over oil and the two young lovers looking to bring their families together to end the violence, flashpoints of the Tunisian revolution that led to the ouster of the region's longtime president began to spark.

"The situation is getting worse and worse; they have seen some tanks over here," recalls Banderas of real life intruding on the fantasy of filmmaking. "At twenty to five, one of the producers got [on the set], screaming, 'Everybody out! Everybody out!' … It was a situation almost tragi-comic, because we were all in costumes just running around, turbans flying in the wind…"

"We could see plumes of smoke, we could see fires in the distance," says director Annaud.
Al Jazeera TV reported that the president had left the country and the army had taken control. Still, the production was determined to complete their film about upheaval in the Arab world, wrapping on time and on budget only days after the revolution changed the region.

"It's so apt for the film and for the moment," says Pinto. "We're talking about a revolution in the film as well, in a way -- growth, and a change, a shift. … It's very unique and very rare that people get to witness the making of history."

Diablo Cody Sweet Valley High Interview Athena Film Festival

Since bursting onto the scene with 2007's Oscar-winning Juno, writer Diablo Cody has dabbled in a wide array of genres, but every film she's written has given voice to one uniquely engaging woman after another, cementing her as a writer steadfastly dedicated to capturing the female experience on-screen.

That's why she's the perfect person to serve as co-chair for the Athena Film Festival, a four-day festival that includes conversations with female directors and Hollywood stars, workshops for filmmakers and celebrates women in leadership positions.

ETonline caught up with Cody this morning to find out how she came to partner with the Athena Film Festival, why the ultimate sign of the festival's success would be its evaporation and what you can expect from her next project: a big screen adaptation of Sweet Valley High!

ETonline: How did you get involved with the Athena Film Festival?

Diablo Cody: They contacted me after their first year, and I was intrigued. Obviously I'm very interested in women in film, and had noticed that women are not placed in leadership positions as often as they should be. I liked that there was a festival that recognized and celebrated women in leadership positions, and the films they are making. There's opportunities for education, there's a directors workshop that AFI is sponsoring -- it's really a three-dimensional experience. Last year was a success, so I wanted to get involved again. I think it's super necessary.

RELATED - 13 Must-See Movies of 2013

ETonline: Much ado has been made over Kathryn Bigelow's Best Director omission this year -- what's your take?

Cody: Honestly, I don't want to sound like the world's biggest whiner, but it's so sad to look at the Oscar nominations and not see a single woman nominated for Best Director. And, out of 12 people nominated for Best Screenwriter, only one is female. It's pretty obvious to me that there's a major disparity.

ETonline: Would the ultimate success of the Athena Film Festival's success be its disbanding on the day Hollywood's so inclusive, it's no longer necessary?

Cody: [laughs] You know, I've thought about that -- maybe it is the goal, but the Athena is so cool, I'd hate to see it eliminated. But I know what you’re saying. The festival is necessary because women are not being given the opportunity or accolades in the mainstream space.

ETonline: I'm not surprised to see the festival turn to you for participation -- you've not only been an artist women of all ages can aspire to be like, but you seem singularly dedicated to bringing unique female experiences to the screen.

Cody: Thank you so much. That's what I’m trying to do. I'm trying to tell women's stories -- especially the unconventional ones. It's not always the easiest sell. It's a lot easier to go into a pitch meeting with something that's mainstream and will appeal to a mass audience. For me, I'm always coming in with stories that are like, "OK, so there's this girl, and she's a burn victim..." It's a harder sell, it's harder to get the money for those films, but it's important to me.

RELATED - Role Call: Who Got Hired in Hollywood?

ETonline: What excited you about the stories you could tell with Sweet Valley High?

Cody: It's about the polarity of the good girl versus the bad girl, which is something I played with a bit in Jennifer's Body. I'm just fascinated by the way women are put into boxes in our culture. The Sweet Valley High books are about Jessica and Elizabeth, these identical twins; one is the perfect straight-A, ambitious good-goody and the other is this really selfish bitch who tends to have a lot more fun. In the books, they frequently switch places and adopt the other's identity. I thought that was a fun idea -- especially, like, in a big, fun, pop-y movie with songs that people can enjoy as hilarious eye candy on a superficial level or on a deeper level exploring some more of those themes.

ETonline: The books were published over the span of 20 years; did you have a hard time deciding which time period to set your movie in?

Cody: No, I knew it had to be 80's because, hello, I love the 80's. Also, I had read all of the books, but one stuck with me. There was a book [Dear Sister, published in 1984] I loved and read the most that involved Elizabeth going into a coma and waking up from her coma and acting like Jessica. I thought we could have a lot of fun with that. Cuz, what happens when you establish which twin you are and then your twin decides, "No I'm going to be that twin." It made for a great screenwriting experience.

ETonline: In terms of casting, are you looking for twins or are you going to pull a Social Network with one actor and face replacement surgery?

Cody: It’s funny, we bring up Armie Hammer all the time. In a way, it would be easier to find the one perfect girl and pull the Winklevoss technique on her. On the other hand, there's something really fun about searching for the perfect twins. The decision hasn't been made yet.

ETonline: You recently directed your first film, given the filmmakers you've worked with and spoken to at the Athena Film Festival, was the experience of actually helming a film different than you imagined?

Cody: It was very shocking. There's a reason why I procrastinated for so long and didn't direct. After Juno happened, when you win an award like that, everyone says, "What do you want to do next?" And I said I didn't want to direct because I wasn't ready at that time. I waited four years to be ready. I finished this script and was getting ready to send it out to directors, but I didn't want to. I wanted to take this script and shoot it [myself] and I got the opportunity. It was one of the coolest, craziest things I've ever done in my life and I'm so glad I did it.

Julianne Hough Talks Her Changing Style

The always stylish Julianne Hough is launching her own shoe collection with Sole Society in February, and in a candid new interview with ET, the multi-talented star dishes on her own evolving style -- which has obviously gone through a drastic transformation since she burst onto the scene on Dancing with the Stars.

"My style has completely evolved from when I was first on Dancing with the Stars," the bubbly 24-year-old laughs. "I can actually see the real color of my skin now. I think it was a lot more glitz and glamour and costume, and I think now I'm trying to be a little bit more natural and understated -- but still fun -- but definitely a bit more everyday. I don't think I could walk down the street with some ballroom shoes on, and a little glitzy outfit, and feel comfortable. I think this is way more me now," she says, gesturing to her demure Peter Pan collar sweater.

Pics: The Complete List -- 'Dancing with the Stars' Winners

Julianne acknowledges that her style has definitely become more conservative as she's grown up.

"It's funny when I was younger, it was like, the sexier the better -- you know, always trying to look older and stuff like that, and now it's opposite," she says. "You know, I've got nieces and they're 14 and I don't want them to dress how I dressed. So I think I'm definitely a little bit more conscious of it. Like, I don't wear as short of shorts now, or show my belly. I wear less padded bras, that kind of stuff."

These days, Julianne would refer to her style as "a little bit of class, and a little bit of sass."

"I do have fun opportunities to get dressed up and to find my own voice and my own style, and it's ever-evolving and ever-changing, but it's definitely different in the last couple of years actually," she reflects. "I think that I've really kind of found my own niche and what I feel comfortable with. There's a certain amount of class -- with a certain amount of sass -- to be honest."

Video: Julianne Hough Speaks About Escaping Dark Past

But now she's ready to take her fashion game to the next level, partnering with Sole Society on a new footwear collection which consists of everything from flats, heels to sandals, each available in multiple color options. Julianne Hough for Sole Society will introduce five to six styles per month for six months, with prices starting at $49.95.

"I don't know if I've always dreamed of creating shoes in particular, but I've always dreamed of creating in general, she explains. " ... In dancing, or acting or singing, I don't want to just cover somebody else's stuff -- I want to create my own.... and so I want to create my own shoes."

Check out the video to see Julianne in action, modeling her own collection. Julianne Hough for Sole Society will be available at www.solesociety.com, Nordstrom.com and in select Nordstrom stores starting February 11.

"They're due in July, but with identical twins you typically have to deliver a month early," Chely said. "So we are anticipating that I'll be as big as a bus, or an A-frame house by around June," she added.

Chely and Lauren -- who joked to Bragman that they are excited to be having twins but "hope we don't mess it up too badly" -- married in Connecticut in August 2011.

In theaters March 22, Olympus finds Butler as a secret service agent struggling to recover from a tragic accident involving the first lady who unexpectedly becomes the only man who can protect the commander-in-chief after terrorists attack the White House, code named "Olympus." Die Another Day star Rick Yune plays the terrorist mastermind who matches wits with the president (Eckhart) while the speaker of the house (played by Freeman) scrambles to save the nation's top man and avert an even bigger disaster.
